AI video prompts for short dramas: examples you can copy
A good drama prompt describes one moment: who is in the frame, what they do, how it feels and how the camera sees it. It does not try to tell the whole story at once.
Below is a formula and a set of example prompts for the four moments every short drama needs: the hook, the dialogue scene, the reveal and the cliffhanger. Paste them as they are or change the details.
Example: Close-up of a woman reading a text message, her smile fading, rain running down the window behind her, handheld camera. Three seconds.

A simple formula
Use this order: subject, action, setting, mood, camera. Keep it to one or two sentences per shot.
- Subject: who is on screen and what they look like
- Action: one clear action, such as reading a message or turning around
- Setting and mood: where it happens and how it feels
- Camera: close-up, handheld, slow push-in, over-the-shoulder
Hook prompts
Open on conflict or a question. These are written for the first two seconds.
- "Close-up of a woman reading a text message, her smile fading, rain running down the window behind her, handheld camera."
- "A man in a wedding suit stands alone on an empty road at night, holding his phone, headlights approaching in the distance."
- "A girl hides a letter behind her back as her mother walks into the kitchen, tense silence, shallow depth of field."
Dialogue scene prompts
Two people, one table, one problem. Keep the framing simple so the faces carry the scene.
- "Two sisters sit across a kitchen table, one pushes an envelope across, the other does not touch it, warm lamp light, over-the-shoulder shots."
- "A detective leans on a car door and speaks quietly to a witness who avoids eye contact, cold morning light, medium close-up."
- "A couple argues in a parked car at night, rain on the windshield, the camera slowly pushes in on the driver."
Reveal and cliffhanger prompts
End the episode on an image or a line that makes the next one necessary.
- "A hand opens a locked drawer and finds a photo of the lead as a child, the camera pushes in, the room goes silent."
- "The lead turns around and sees her own reflection nodding, though she is standing still, slow dolly back."
- "A phone lights up with a message from a number that was deleted years ago, close-up on the screen and her face."
How it works

Frequently asked questions
What makes a good AI video prompt for a drama?
One moment per shot, with a subject, an action, a setting, a mood and a camera. Short, concrete prompts work better than long lists of adjectives.
Should I describe the whole episode in one prompt?
No. Describe one shot at a time. AlphaDrama splits a script into shots for you, so you can write the story in plain text and let the shot prompts follow.
How do I keep the same character across prompts?
Cast the character once and generate every shot from that look. Do not re-describe the face in each prompt.
Can I use these prompts in AlphaDrama?
Yes. Paste a prompt as a brief or a shot description and edit it on the board before rendering.
