Turn a reference video into a new AI video

Describing a video in words is hard. Showing a clip and saying "like this, but mine" is easier, and it carries information that a prompt never will: the tempo, the camera moves, the length of every beat.

AlphaDrama accepts a reference video as the template. It extracts the shot structure and timing, and you supply what is different.

Example: Use this 20-second clip as the template. Replace the subject with a ceramic coffee mug on a wooden desk, keep the cuts, add warm music and short captions.

What the analysis extracts

The clip is split into shots. For each shot you see its length, framing and movement, so you can judge what to keep before spending anything.

  • Shot boundaries and duration
  • Framing: close, medium or wide
  • Camera moves such as push-in and pan
  • Where on-screen text appears

Bring your own subject

Add the one thing that should differ: product photos, a character portrait, or a line of story. The new shots follow the template but show your subject. For a story, cast the characters first so the lead keeps one face across shots.

Reference clips that work best

Short clips with clear cuts give the cleanest shot lists. A single continuous take is harder to separate. Keep the file under the upload limit and use a clip you have the right to analyze.

Reference video versus a text prompt

A text prompt gives the model freedom, which is good for mood pieces. A reference video gives you control over tempo, which is what matters for ads and series where several videos should feel like one format.

How it works

  1. Start with a story or a product

Paste a chapter, an outline or a one-line idea. For an ad, add product photos or a product link.

  2. We cast, storyboard and voice it

Characters get fixed looks, scenes get sets, and the script is split into shots with voices and captions.

  3. Review the price, then export

You see the cost before any video renders. Export a 9:16 file for TikTok, Reels and Shorts.

Frequently asked questions

What does the tool take from my reference clip?

Structure and timing: shot boundaries, durations, framing and camera movement. It does not reuse the footage.

How long can the reference clip be?

Short clips work best. Upload files are limited in size, so trim the clip to the part you want to follow.

Can I change the pacing after the analysis?

Yes. Every shot in the list can be shortened, extended or removed before rendering.

Is this the same as image to video?

No. Image to video animates one picture. A reference video controls the whole sequence of shots.
