AI video prompts for product ads: examples you can copy
Product ad prompts have a different job from story prompts. They have to show the product clearly, show it being used, and give the viewer one reason to care in a few seconds.
This page gives a short formula and example prompts for the shots most ads use: the hero shot, the detail close-up, the in-use scene and the closing frame.
Example: A matte green stainless steel water bottle on a light wood kitchen counter, soft morning light from the left, slow push-in toward the lid.

A formula for product shots
Name the product first, then the surface, the light, the movement and the camera. Keep brand names and logos out of the prompt unless they are yours.
- Product: what it is, its color and material
- Surface and setting: a kitchen counter, a bathroom shelf, a desk
- Light: soft morning light, warm lamp light, bright studio light
- Camera: slow push-in, top-down, slow orbit, macro close-up
Hero shot prompts
The first frame of the ad. The product, clean and recognizable.
- "A matte green stainless steel water bottle on a light wood kitchen counter, soft morning light from the left, slow push-in."
- "A glass serum bottle with a white dropper on a marble shelf, water droplets on the glass, soft studio light, slow orbit."
Detail and in-use prompts
Show the feature, then show a person using it.
- "Macro close-up of the bottle lid turning and sealing, shallow depth of field, clean background."
- "A woman in her thirties pours a drink from the bottle into a glass at her desk, natural window light, handheld camera."
- "Hands unbox a small speaker on a living room table, the camera tilts up to a smile, warm evening light."
Closing frame and call to action
Finish on the product and one short line of text or voice.
- "The product centered on a plain background with space above for text, a slow zoom out, bright and clean."
- "A presenter holds the product toward the camera and says one short line about it, friendly and relaxed, kitchen background."
How it works
Start with a story or a product
Paste a chapter, an outline or a one-line idea. For an ad, add product photos or a product link.
We cast, storyboard and voice it
Characters get fixed looks, scenes get sets, and the script is split into shots with voices and captions.
Review the price, then export
You see the cost before any video renders. Export a 9:16 file for TikTok, Reels and Shorts.
Frequently asked questions
How should I describe my product in a prompt?
Say what it is, its color and material, and where it sits. Leave out brand names unless the brand is yours.
Can I start from my own product photos?
Yes. Upload product photos in AlphaDrama and the shots are built around them, so the product looks like your real one.
How long should an ad shot be?
Most product shots are two to four seconds. A 15 to 20 second ad is usually five to eight shots.
Can I use these prompts for UGC-style ads?
Yes. Add a presenter and a casual setting, or use the UGC video tool to build the whole ad from product photos.
